About Thyme and Space

I started my journey with ceramics by accident, literally! Recovering from a walking accident 6 years ago I turned to clay, exploring the sheer excitement of working with a natural material.

My passion from childhood has always been nature. I was born in West Sussex but now live on the edge of Dartmoor and being able to walk both the beautiful landscapes and wild beaches around Devon and Cornwall inspires me.

With no formal training in ceramics my skills have developed through trial and error in my own studio. I use various methods to form my pieces, they may be hand thrown on the wheel or hand built from slab or coil. Whichever method I use, the bond between the clay and my hands is strong with the vision in my head developing and evolving. My work is rustic, tactile and regularly prompts an emotional response.
